Get your seasonings together and your outhouse all gassed up! Each year the Annual BeanFest and Championship Outhouse Races winds down the music season of Mountain View. We like to go out with a bang! BeanFest will start on Friday, October 24 with live music on the Courthouse stage starting at noon.
Craft and food vendors will line the streets offering a variety of goodies to take home. There will also be a merchant fashion show following the music at the Courthouse on Friday afternoon. Saturday’s events will start early with the Bean Cook-Off kicking off the chilly morning hours. Not only will there be a competition for the best cooked pinto beans but the competitors will also be judged on the Best Designed Bean Stand (many people go all out and dress in crazy costumes) and the Best Martha White Cornbread. You won’t want to miss stopping by to see the creativity behind some of the chefs. The best part is around lunch time, you can choose from which stand to try a bowl of beans! After you eat your beans, head through the breezeway (between The Dude Ranch and Fashion Savvy) and watch the Championship Outhouse Races. Many of the local merchants and restaurants have worked relentlessly trying to make the fastest outhouse on the track for this year!
