Husband and wife duo Aaron and Ashley Nolan will be speaking at the Old Independence Regional Museum Sunday, November 9th at 2:00 p.m. The KARK anchors will discuss how they balance their lives as new parents and news broadcasters.
Ashley Ketz-Nolan, a Batesville native, earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She began her career at KFSM-TV in Fayetteville as a reporter in 2006 and was promoted to morning anchor before being named the evening anchor.
Aaron Nolan, co-anchor of KARK 4 Today, is a native of Maumelle. Nolan graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a degree in Telecommunications. Nolan worked at Nexstar Broadcasting’s KNWA-TV in Fayetteville serving as a general assignment reporter. Both Ashley and Aaron worked in Springfield, Missouri before returning to Arkansas in September 2013.
All proceeds will benefit the museum. “Old Independence Regional Museum has been very fortunate in having community support since its opening” said museum Board President Mary Ann Marshall. “We hope the community will continue their loyal support by attending our fundraiser.”
The program will be free and open to the public. Normal museum hours are: Tuesday-Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is $3.00 for adults, $2.00 for seniors and $1.00 for children. The museum is located at 380 South 9th street, between Boswell and Vine Streets in Batesville.
Old Independence is a regional museum serving a 12-county area: Baxter, Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Marion, Poinsett, Sharp, Stone, White, and Woodruff. Parts of these present-day counties comprised the original Independence County in 1820’s Arkansas territory.
