Calico Rock Honors Gene Lockie for years of service

img_2634
For nearly 30 years, Gene Lockie has been a quiet force doing good within our community. He and his beloved wife, Reva, moved here from Iowa in 1988 after falling in love with the area while visiting his folks. Over the years, he has served on the school board and been active in the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Calico Rock Industrial Development Corporation, 20/20 and so much more. In the years that he has lived in Calico Rock, an estimated $1,000,000 has been invested in improving our community through civic organizations.

When Gene moved to Calico Rock, he didn’t do so with the intention of making it on the front page of the White River Current. He just went to work and he never minded the hard, thankless, no-credit jobs. He cared about the community and the people, even those he didn’t always agree with.
