Ozark_Folk_Center_Square_Dancing_07112012_6327The First Annual Ozark Folk Center State Park Music and Dance Awards will be held Saturday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Music Auditorium on the grounds of the Ozark Folk Center State Park. Doors for the show open at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free.

“We’ve styled the show similar to awards shows like the Grammy’s so there will be some great performances and some fun with the awards presentations as well.” said Music Director Daren Dortin. “We have so many talented performers and thought it was time to honor excellence in each of these categories. Musicians who perform here from out of town always marvel at the talent we have right here in Mountain View and the surrounding communities, it’s really something special.”

The show features performances from OFCSP musicians and dancers and includes award presentations for: Best Male and Female Performer, Best Male and Female Dancer, Best Youth Performer, Best Newcomer and Music Volunteer of the Year.

Scheduled performers include: The Lazy Goat String Band, Pretty Lil Miss, Upjumpers and Duane Porterfield w/Gresham McMillon. Dancers for the evening include: Sonny Graves, Leah Ashley, Cameron Shaver, Alex Prince, Caleb Elliot, Ali Cornett, Sammy McMahan & Abigail Wilkie with caller Punkin Wallis.
