La Pastorella Bistro Invites Everyone to Visit for a Dining Experience Like no Other!

If you enjoy a good meal home-cooked and freshly prepared, get ready for a meal like you seldom find away from home.  Having met the owners a couple of years ago, I was anxious to dine there and yesterday turned out to be the perfect time!

Their entry door proudly tips you off about their 2016 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, which is no surprise as you enter their immaculately pristine bistro-style cafe.  It is like stepping into another time and another place, completely different from any dining experience for many miles around.  It has been in business for 12 years at Mammoth Spring, the last several at 355 Main Street.  You may call them or go to their Facebook page for updated menus and days and times.

My “friend in cahoots” is of German descent and an expert on such cuisine, so this was a very special late luncheon time for both of us.  With the awesome menu, that changes often, it was hard to choose between liver and onions and bratwurst/sauerkraut and house potatoes.  We both went with the latter, and it was a totally delicious meal, oh my goodness! the House Potatoes I tried to “read” the recipe they were the best I’ve ever eaten!

The atmosphere was such a friendly, personable and real place.  We enjoyed every minute from the moment we entered and they quickly took our order.   Being me, I had many questions about their unique dining bistro, and  I was rewarded with very direct and friendly info with a sense of humor which I always love!  They are both fine conversationalists  and special people, and were courteous even throughout our departure with  us leaving in the middle of a toad-suck downpour that didn’t let up  for quite a while.  She suggested my friend back the car up so I wouldn’t melt, and I felt quite the lady as her husband even escorted me to the car door with an umbrella.  I tell you, I want to go back and eat and hopefully they will have time to share more stories with us.  I did learn their business name La Pastorella means “Shepherdess” and the photo is on their business card and several pictures on their walls.  Their decor is the kind from pictures, the original real knotty pine floor, to cowbells (even one from Austria) that you want to walk around admiring and read everything in sight.

I promise you won’t be the same when you leave La Pastorella Bistro.  You will leave smiling and feeling so special, as we felt, and you will indeed start planning your next trip and meal there, mine being their liver and onions, and I will call to see when it will be on the menu!

“I love this little restaurant. Delicious, homemade food – wonderful people – friendly service – amazing dishes prepared with love – and did I mention wonderful people?? 🙂 Take off your hat, turn off your phone, have a conversation and enjoy your meal. ♡ (Recent review)

“We finally made the time to stop in and have lunch at this Bistro. We should have done it sooner! The food was authentic and so delicious! I had a hard time choosing from the menu, because it all looked so good! The owners were so delightful and friendly. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, atmosphere, and the way the owners made us feel so welcomed. If you’re ever in the Mammoth Spring area..do not pass this place up! It’s an experience you wouldn’t want to miss! (Recent review)”
