PortFest to bring back popular HoopFest 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
PortFest Festival directors have announced that the popular HoopFest 3-On-3 Basketball Tournament will return on June 10, 2017 at Jacksonport State Park. HoopFest will be revived after a nearly 20-year absence as part of this year’s festival.

The first-place team will take home $1,000 with a $500 second place award and $200 for third place.

Sponsored by the Newport Economic Development Commission, HoopFest will feature up to 50 teams consisting of up to four players each. All players must be at least 16 years of age. Games will be held from 10 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m. on June 10 in the parking lot next to the park pavilion.

Entry fee is $200 per team, which includes four Saturday tickets for PortFest. Find a registration form and more details at www.portfest.org. Deadline to enter is Friday, June 2 or until 50 teams have registered.

PortFest 2017 will become the largest tribute artist festival in the mid-south tributes to your favorite artists past and present. Stages will also feature the first annual Bandimonium battle of the bands competition for cash prizes. PortFest has also been selected as the mid-south qualifying location for the C&C Distributors U.S. Air Guitar National Championships. Additional events coming to PortFest on Saturday, June 10 include the Unity Health Run Lizard Creek Obstacle Mud Run, Jackson’s Funeral Home Jerry Hulett Memorial Car, Truck and Bike Show, all new Greenway Equipment Hunting & Fishing Village, Greenway Equipment Agri Village, All That I Am Books Art Village, VIP area, Arkansas Steel Associates Children’s Village and much more. A PortFest Golf Tournament, sponsored by Mize Heating & Air, will be held on Friday, May 26 at the Newport Country Club.
