Lace, Loops, and Laughter: Beginner’s Tatting Workshop

July 12 9 am – 1 pm

Registration Fee: $15

Tatting, a very old form of lace-making, reached its peak during Victorian times. Learn how to make bookmarks, lace collars, doilies, and more with the Victorian method of tatting with a tatting shuttle. Participants will learn about the history of tatting, where to find supplies, how to read patterns and receive the information they will need to continue to advance their tatting skills. Materials and patterns provided, and participants are given a simple project to take home. Please bring a sack lunch. Independence Day Programs

Saturday, July 5

10:00 a.m.: Rag Dolls

19th century children had to make their own toys from materials that were easy to find. Join a park interpreter to make your very own rag doll that you can take home.

2:00 p.m.: Water Witching

Early settlers used a “witch stick” or divining rod to find water below ground. Join us to discover the science of water below the earth’s surface and try your hand at the ancient way of finding it.
