Randolph County

davidsonvilleRandolph County was established in 1835, just prior of Arkansas statehood.  It was named in honor of John Randolph, a Virginia statesman and U.S. Congressman. The county was made up of land ceded from Lawrence County and the seat of justice was located at Pocahontas, which had been called Bettis Bluff when settled by French trappers.

maynardKnown as the “land of five rivers,” the county offers a variety of water activities including fishing, boating, canoeing and swimming; plus Old Davidsonville State Park (townsite exhibits, picnic areas, camping, lake and river fishing), Maynard Museum (pioneer farmstead with exhibits), Imperial Dinner Theatre (Broadway shows); historic downtown square (restored 1872 courthouse, shopping, art galleries, riverside park and camping), and scenic drives in the foothill country or the delta farmlands.
