BATESVILLE — Lyon College will host a Musical Theatre Summer Workshop on Saturday and Sunday, July 18-19, in Holloway Theatre on the Lyon College campus, 2300 Highland Rd., Batesville.
The free workshop is open to participants of all ages and is designed for aspiring performers, experienced actors and anyone interested in musical theatre.
The two-day program will feature an audition workshop, solo and ensemble vocal training with Dr. Bethany Neese, assistant professor of music, and a final performance for family and friends. Participants also will explore music from well-known Broadway productions, including “Les Misérables,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Sound of Music” and others.
“Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where performers of all ages can build confidence, strengthen their vocal and performance skills, and experience the joy of musical theatre,” said Dr. Maggie Gayle, associate professor of art and theatre at Lyon College. “Whether someone is preparing for auditions or simply loves to sing and perform, this workshop offers something for everyone.”
