FeaturedMark your Calendars! We have a great artist exhibit coming to the Tech Depot Gallery. Hometown Artist Gail Thaxton Fogleman will have her art on display from January 8th until March 24th.
We will be hosting a reception for you to meet Gail on January 14th from 4 to 6 pm. Drop by and see the work and meet the artist!

Powhatan Historic State Park to host Valentine’s Day Trial by Jury
FeaturedPowhatan Historic State Park is offering a playful, interactive Valentine’s Day experience with its “Trial by Jury” event on February 14 from 2–4 p.m. Guests can step into roles such as judge, juror, lawyer, or even the accused as a historic, Valentine-themed court case is brought to life. No acting background is needed, but participation is encouraged. Space is limited, and registration costs $10. Those interested can sign up by calling the park, and additional questions may be directed to Park Interpreter Zachary Elledge.

FeaturedJacksonport State Park 111 Avenue Street, Jacksonport, AR, United StatesMarch 21, 2026 Jacksonport State Park to feature guest speaker Dr. Robert Scott to celebrate Archeology Month 2:00-4:00 pm Celebrate Archelogy Month: Join Dr. Robert Scott, Archeologist at Parkin Archeological State Park, as he presents Applied Zooarchaeology and the Analysis of Archeological Freshwater Mussel Shell. As we dig into his presentation we will learn some of the ways mussels were used by past peoples, the intensity with which they were gathered, how time and place varied, the role mussels played in the diets of past peoples and other ways they were utilized. Mussels played an important role in Jacksonport’s past and will continue to play a key role for the future. The program will be held in the 1872 Courthouse Museum Courtroom, a kid friendly surface dig at the beach will follow for children ages 5-12.
