🚣‍♀️ Kayaking the White River near Batesville 🌊
Glide down the White River and soak in some of the most peaceful scenery in north Arkansas. Calm waters, scenic riverbanks, and quiet bends make every paddle relaxing. Along the way, watch for bald eagles soaring overhead, deer coming down to the water’s edge, river otters, herons, and turtles. If you enjoy fishing, drop a line along the shoreline and reel in some fun. It’s the perfect way to slow down, unplug, and experience the natural beauty around Batesville.🌿🦅🦌

Just a short drive off Highway 67 in Newport is a place that holds generations of stories and a deep respect for family traditions — Jackson’s Funeral Home and the E. Bob Jackson Memorial Museum of Funeral Service. What began in the 1940s as a family business has grown into a meaningful piece of local history that continues to educate and connect generations.

🏛️ A Downtown Salem Landmark with a Story to Tell

Salem United Methodist Church has been located near the Salem square since the late 1800s. The congregation was established in 1874, and its first church building was constructed in 1885, serving the community for decades.

On March 28, 1924, a devastating tornado destroyed that original structure. Determined to continue, the congregation rebuilt — and the church building completed in the late 1920s.

Now, more than 150 years after its founding, Salem UMC remains a symbol of faith, resilience, and community in the heart of downtown Salem.
