Newport sits along historic Highway 67, famously known as the Rock ’n’ Roll Highway. In the 1950s, some of the biggest names in early rock and roll — including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis — traveled this route to reach shows across the Midwest.
