🌟 Discover Newport, Arkansas! 🌟
Rolling along the scenic White River, Newport has a story behind its name! Back in the 19th century, it became a key “new port” for shipping goods along the river, making it a bustling hub for trade and travel. Newport sits in Jackson County, named in honor of President Andrew Jackson, reflecting the area’s early 19th-century roots and the nation’s admiration for him at the time. Today, Newport blends history and hospitality, with river views, historic downtown streets, and local spots full of character.
