The Ozark Gateway is excited to spotlight the incredible work of Arkansas artist, illustrator, and historian Craig Ogilvie — a native of Batesville whose illustrations bring our region’s heritage to life. Ogilvie’s art beautifully captures historic scenes, legacies and profound ideas of the past and shares them in his own way.

The Ozark Gateway is

Before finding its home in Walnut Ridge, Williams Baptist University first opened its doors in Pocahontas. 📚 Established in 1941 as Southern Baptist College, the institution began in Pocahontas before later relocating to Walnut Ridge, where it continues to serve students today. What started as a small Baptist college has grown into a respected university with deep roots in Northeast Arkansas. From its beginnings in Pocahontas to its thriving campus in Walnut Ridge, Williams Baptist University reflects decades of faith, education, and community heritage. Special Thanks to Williams Baptist University for use of the historic photographs.
