Pack your golf clubs and head to Cherokee Village for a spring day that blends scenic Ozark landscapes with relaxed competition and small-town hospitality. The 7th Annual Ozark Gateway Golf Tournament will be held at the Cherokee Village South Course.
This four-person scramble is designed for golfers of all skill levels, making it just as enjoyable for casual players as it is for seasoned competitors. Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start, with winners announced at 3 p.m.—leaving plenty of time to take in the rolling hills and fresh air.
The $300 team entry fee includes tournament play, breakfast pastries, lunch, and access to a full slate of on-course contests and prizes. Throughout the course, players can compete in challenges such as longest drive, longest putt, and closest-to-the-pin, with $20 cash prizes awarded at each designated hole. Opportunities add an extra level of excitement, including a $5,000 cash prize on Hole 2 and $500 gift cards on Holes 8, 13, and 16.
Additional tournament features include three competitive flights with prizes awarded to top teams, one mulligan per player, and tee box assignments based on age groups to ensure fair play. A limited number of golf carts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is encouraged.
Hosted by the Ozark Gateway Tourist Council, the tournament supports tourism and regional promotion across Fulton, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Lawrence, Randolph, Sharp, and Stone counties. Visitors are encouraged to make a weekend of their trip by exploring nearby rivers, parks, and historic communities throughout the Ozark Gateway region.
This event offers more than a round of golf—it’s an opportunity to experience the character, scenery, and hospitality that make the Ozarks a memorable destination.
