Get ready for one of Arkansas’s sweetest summer traditions as the 2026 Cave City Watermelon Festival returns July 24–25 with two full days of concerts, contests, family fun, food trucks, and world-famous Cave City watermelon.
What began decades ago as a hometown celebration honoring local watermelon growers has grown into one of north Arkansas’s biggest summer festivals, drawing visitors from across the region to downtown Cave City each July. Today, the festival combines small-town charm with live entertainment, classic festival fun, and a packed schedule of events for all ages.

Friday kicks off with the Kid’s Fishing Derby at City Park Pond, followed by the Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby, Food Truck Wars, craft fairs, watermelon contests, live music, and the evening car cruise through the park. Friday night wraps up with performances from Whiskey Halo and country favorites Confederate Railroad on the main stage.
Saturday starts bright and early with the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast and the Melon Dash 5K before downtown fills with festivalgoers for the Watermelon Parade, car show, craft fair, live music, dog performances, melon contests, and the crowd-favorite Watermelon Feast. The evening concludes with live performances by Tyler Kinch and country music star Sammy Kershaw.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can enjoy food vendors, local shopping, family activities, contests, and free concerts thanks to community sponsors. From speed-eating contests and melon auctions to hometown music and slices of cold watermelon on a hot July day, the Cave City Watermelon Festival continues to celebrate the farming heritage, hospitality, and community spirit that make Cave City a favorite Arkansas summer destination.
